What do we know about plastic and the environment?

Task Description: Today I learned more about plastic also what plastic does to the environment. The image above is just some things me and the people in my literacy class brainstormed on our whiteboard. Here are three things I learned and found interesting:

1. Firstly plastic is destroying the marine life with the plastic's that goes into the Ocean.

2. The second thing I found out was that about 260 million tons of plastic in the world is produced each year and about 10 percent of it ends up in the Ocean.

3. Last but not least I found out that more than half a billion plastic straws are used around the world everyday.

Keeping the Tongan Culture alive

 Task description: Today for reading I wrote down a list of things that keeps the Tongan culture alive. I made a poster that's explains and shows what I have learnt about.

 Task description: Today I learnt about Totara trees it was very interesting when I learnt about it, did you know that Totara trees are one of the majestic forest canopy trees. Anyways here is a slideshow/presentation of my reading work for this week.

Kia Ora this morning my teacher Mrs Telea read us a book called A game of cards. On the top of my poster it shows the new words I learnt from this book and some these words were words I couldn't were explain properly so I gave examples to some of them instead. In the right corner of my poster it shows two maps if your wondering why their there this is why, one of the maps I put up was just for fun and it shows where the author is from. The second one shows where the Marae was from the book.

U-Turn Character Feelings

WALT: Identify points of view that the author shows through characters and how this can lead the reader.



Task Description: We had to read this story and then complete the activity. We had to think about how the character was feeling and justify how they were feeling by looking at the book.
