Maori Language moment
In 1972 30,000 signatures were delivered to safeguard the Maori language.
Safeguard means to protect the Maori language needed to be protected. Why?
Three reasons why I think it needed to be protected.
1. The first reason is because the language could have been lost.
2. The second reason is because it is part of people's life.
3. My last but not least reason is because it is a prime language in New Zealand.
Kia Kaha te Reo Maori.

When making the Ngatu / Tapa cloths the women first peel the bark from the tree that is cut down. The second thing you do once you're done peeling the bark is that they take it and hang it outside for the sun to dry it. Then you soak the dry bark into water so it can get soft. The fourth thing you do is beat the wood with a tool called an ike so that it can be more thin and wider. Then you let it dry again.

Leadership Programme
Last week while the year eights were at camp me and the rest of the year sevens stayed and took part in the year seven leadership programme which was held at school. At this programme we learned more about being a leader and what it means. I was was in Duck life, it sound awkward at first but it didn't really matter because being part of that group was really enjoyable.
In Ms Tipenes class, we made poster that included inspirational thoughts / quotes but before picking a quotes we were told to pick a shape or a picture to draw for us to put the quote inside. After drawing the shape and writing the quote on a paper then we were to draw it on the paper then we put it on a bigger paper. In this class we our chant.
In Mrs Ilaoas class, we played lots of game one of them were a cookie game. In the game you get a cookie there was twenty or more people in duck life so we only had one cookie each before we start playing the games we had to get into group of seven and I think there were three or four group altogether. After getting getting into the groups we played the game and my team one but not only did we win but we also had lots of fun.
On Friday morning we had a school assembly like normal except since the year eights went to camp and the prefex were goon the year sevens took over for them. After the assembly we had team challenges. My favourite game was the cup stacking game even though me and a couple of people didn't take part we just charred on the people that were play.

My goals for the term
My first goal is to try and move nine months for my reading. I want to achieve this goal because I want to read at an twelve year old reading level.
My second goal is to read every night for 30mins / read more through out the day. I am gonna try an achieve this goal because I am supposed to read every night but I don't. Also it would be very helpful if I achieve this goal because this goal can help with achieving my first goal that I set.
My third and final goal is to learn more vocabulary words. The reason why I chose to set this as one of my goals is because I don't really know that much vocabulary words so I am gonna try to learn at least 5-10 words every week.

My Reflection from this term
Today I will share with you what I This term has been great I have enjoyed it a lot. This term and last term was the most interesting term in my whole life. This is because during the end of the last term the whole of New Zealand was in look down from April the 27 to the 13 of May. On the 13 of May New Zealand moved into level two. Thats when some of us came back to school it was awkward and weird but finally it feel a little bit more normally at school.
So my highlights for this term is is that I got to come back to school and see everyone just like we used to. My second highlight is that it's the last day of the term today and we get to have a break. Last but not least it has been a little different for once.
Soon it is gonna be the holidays and I am so excited to spend even more time with my siblings and family.

Matariki
Around the time of Matariki at night time or at 6:00 a clock when the moon is still in the sky you can see seven stars. Matariki is also known as the seven sisters which are Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipunarangi, Waitī, Waitā, and Ururangi. Each sister represents something. For example Waiti help all the ocean, sea, river, and more.
My Highlight for the day was that I got to be in crafts also that I got to draw what all the seven stars of what Matariki was about. In my class we got to make these star crafts using paper so first we drew what each star is about then we coloured it in. Last if we were finished then we were able to make a origami kite it is harder then you think.

Our school's assembly
We began with a normal assembly, then Mrs Nua came up to welcome the very important people that helps our school they all said a little speech then Pisirina said how thankful an glad we all were to have a Principle like him. After that, Aj (one of our Prefex) said a prayer in honour of this award straight after Aj said the prayer we sang Ufiufi lou agaga.
The thing that I mostly enjoyed at the assembly was sitting down an being able to be with everyone at our school like we used to I liked how our principle got chosen to get an award from the QUEEN. So I'd like to say a BIG thank you to Mr and Mrs Burt because with out them it would to a big difference and we would probably not have Chromebooks.

This morning Nina explained her way of how she meditates. She used meditation as her way to clear her mid. A soundtrack was played, sounds of nature was in the background while Nina was focused on clearing her mind. Here's five ways you could clear your mind.
First way how you could is by listening to relaxing music, try not to listen to music that has words try go for music with just sound. Second go for a run. Third take a nap, even if its just for half an hour. Fourth you can meditate for 4 or more minutes. Last but not least you can just go into a room and embrace silence.

Taha Wairua
This is to do with our spiritual well-being is what we believe. There are many ways people show Taha Wairua. We talked about this and came up with a list:
People pray in public and in private.
Some people dress a certain way to show their spiritual well being - what they believe in.
Read and live by a certain set of guidelines; Bible Quran etc
What other ways can you think of?
Today our activity was to create a card to bless another person from our bubble to make their spirit their Taha Wairua' stronger. Going on from this I created this card for my mum so that her Taha Wairua can get stronger.
My experience of the lockdown
What I mostly liked was that I always had spare time so most of the time I just did anything I wanted to but then after then after term one break or holiday I had to time or schedule what i’d do. But it was easier to finish my work, so that's what I enjoyed during the weekdays. The thing that I hated was that me and my siblings always had to clean up our little brothers toys, also we had to do more chores than before lockdown.
On the weekends I always liked watching movies with my siblings, like I said it was a lockdown so me and my siblings watched lots of new movies or movies we had never watched. But sometimes on netflix there would be movies that we couldn't watch because our siblings would be in the living room and if they watched it, they would most likely get scared.
I am so glad that I got to spend time with my family. It was awesome and I also learned some things that I had never known about them since we had time. Like normally I wouldn't talk to them because it might be that I run out of time or I just can’t be bothered.
The experience that I went though for lockdown was kinda boring but cool at the same time. I wouldn’t want to do it again just because of what happens if elderly people get it.
